Oh the places we will go

For this project I used both water color and pen. I used stippling with the pen because I think it is a better way to really show values and shadows. I used water color for the big spaces that would take to long to fill in with pen. I think it was a creative idea because it wasn't actually on earth and it included more than just the moon. It was more of a view from the moon.

Interesting point of view

I decided to draw skyscrapers because it was really simple. I think when people look at the drawing they just feel that its simple. It was pretty challenging trying to make the skyscrapers stand out and really add value into it.

Up close and personal

I chose to draw hair because it was easy to use emphasis on. I showed emphasis through the bright color of hair against the dull background. For this picture I used color pencil to create texture in the hair and it was easier to create value with. Of the 5 characteristics of great art I included medium and technique in this drawing.

Paper bag

value is important to use im drawings so that you can show shadows and make it look more three demensional instead of flat. Value was used in this picture to show the folds and wrinkles of the bag. I decided to use charcoal for this so i could go really dark to show depth. 

whats the point

1.Some other ideas I came up with for whats the point were arrow heads, triangles, and smoking

2.I chose the solution pyramid because i knew i could interperet more things with this idea

3.i showed contrast in my picture by really pushing the dark values against the white paper

4. the medium i chose was pen, i chose this because i could easily go darker with it then pencil

5. some techniques i used was contour lines and stippling

6. i took a risk by using pen and choosing to go really dark with it
